When and Where Is It Happening?

The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 kicks off on August 7 and runs until September 20.

Opening Match: Jamaica Kingsmen vs Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in Kingstown, St Vincent and the Grenadines.

  • Barbados
  • Guyana
  • Jamaica
  • St Kitts and Nevis
  • St Lucia
  • St Vincent and the Grenadines
  • Trinidad and Tobago

How Does the Tournament Work?

Think of it like the IPL but with Caribbean flair:

  1. League Phase — All teams play each other
  2. Top 4 Qualify — The best four teams make the playoffs
  3. Playoffs at Kensington Oval, Barbados — The grand finale stage
  4. Double Chance for Top 2 — Just like IPL, the top two teams get two shots at reaching the final

What’s New This Season?

  • Second Jamaica team after Tallawahs (defunct since 2023)
  • Owned by Fawad Sarwar (Pakistani businessman based in the US)

    • Hunain Shah (brother of Pakistan star Naseem Shah)

Barbados Tridents Are Back!

  • Barbados Royals → Barbados Tridents (their original name from first 8 seasons)
