The WTA Tour (that’s the top level of women’s professional tennis) has come to Prague for the Livesport Prague Open. This is one of the first tournaments played on "hard courts" (fast, solid surfaces) after players spent time on slower "clay courts" (soft, dusty surfaces). They are getting ready for a busy series of tournaments in the US.
The first day has a mix of:
Our friends at LWOT (Last Word on Tennis) are sharing predictions for every match. But who will win and move on? Let’s find out!
Here are the four matches happening on Day 1, explained like you’re 5 years old.
Head-to-Head: They have never played each other before.
This match may come down to big moments and who can keep the ball in play longer. Alisa’s calmness and movement could make Oceane hit extra shots. If the teen handles the early power, she can take over.
Prediction: Oktiabreva in 3 (she wins in three sets)
Head-to-Head: First meeting.
Expect long rallies with few easy points. Veronika’s patience and fewer errors should slowly annoy Carol, making her take risky shots.
Prediction: Podrez in 2 (she wins in two sets)
Head-to-Head: First meeting.
This could swing back and forth. Ella’s defense keeps points alive, but Daria’s attacking from both sides gives her more ways to finish—if she limits errors.
Prediction: Snigur in 3 (she wins in three sets)
Head-to-Head: Ruzic has beaten Salkova 1 time before, Salkova 0.
Both like to control rallies from the back, so it should be close. Dominika’s home edge and recent hard-court improvements could steal key moments, but Antonia will fight hard.
Prediction: Salkova in 3 (she wins in three sets)
Important Point: All predictions are based on player styles, recent form, and matchups. Tennis can be surprising, so anything can happen on the day!

Exciting tennis awaits in Prague!
What is the WTA Tour?
It’s the main professional tennis circuit for women, where the best female players in the world compete.
What does “hard court” mean?
It’s a fast, solid playing surface (usually made of acrylic or similar) that makes the ball bounce quicker than clay courts.
What does “in 3” or “in 2” mean in predictions?
It means how many sets a player needs to win the match. “In 2” = wins in two sets (straight sets). “In 3” = wins after three sets (the match was closer).
Who is LWOT?
LWOT stands for Last Word on Tennis, the folks who made these predictions.
