1Have you ever heard of a "Ring of Honor"? Think of it like a special wall of fame where a sports team puts the names of its all-time greatest heroes. Well, big news: a former Tennessee Titans running back named Chris Johnson is getting that超级 special honor!
The Tennessee Titans are going to officially welcome Chris Johnson into their Ring of Honor (a fancy way of saying their club of legendary players).
The team is planning a big halftime show (the break in the middle of the game) to celebrate Chris Johnson.
Let’s learn a little about Chris and his time with the team:
Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk shared a happy message about Chris:
"Chris Johnson holds a special place in the hearts of our organization and our fans. His stats speak for themselves, and he will forever remain a leader in our record books, but the man behind the yardage deserves just as much celebration. We look forward to welcoming him home on Sept. 13 and officially inducting him into the Titans Ring of Honor."
In simple words: Chris is loved, his numbers are amazing, and they can’t wait to celebrate him.
Numbers can be boring, but these are like video game scores!
Chris has collected other badges of awesomeness:
Earlier this month, Chris shared some tough news with the public.
Chris said:
"I want people to know I am still me. ALS has changed what my body can do, but it hasn’t changed who I am."
And:
"If sharing my story helps even one person get diagnosed sooner, inspires more research, or gives another family hope, it is worth it."
Even after he stopped playing, Chris stayed close to the Titans:
Chris will join 19 previous inductees (people already in the Ring of Honor).
Important Point: Chris Johnson’s induction happens at the 2026 home opener on Sept. 13, and he will be the 20th member of the Titans Ring of Honor. Dave McGinnis will be honored at a different home game later that season.
Chris Johnson, a beloved former Titans running back, will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor at halftime of the Sept. 13, 2026 home opener vs the Jets. He played for Tennessee from 2008–2013, made three Pro Bowls, and racked up huge stats including 7,965 rushing yards with the team. He was the 2009 NFL Offensive Player of the Year and set a scrimmage-yards record. Off the field, he loves Tennessee, hosted a podcast, and recently shared his ALS diagnosis bravely. He joins 19 others in the Ring, and Dave McGinnis will be added later in the season.
