Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold appears on Flipkart ahead of August 14 India launch – Times of India

Google will take the wraps off its Pixel 9 series in India on August 14. Ahead of the launch, Walmart-owned Flipkart has confirmed the availability of the upcoming lineup via its platform. While the series is expected to offer four Pixel phones – Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Flipkart lists only two phones on its website.These include Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, hinting that the company may bring only two Pixel 9 series models in India.
It must be noted here that the Flipkart listing does not reveal any specifications of the upcoming phones. Nevertheless, the smartphone series has been subject to several leaks till now. In a latest, alleged price of the phones leaked online.
According to Reddit user “u/5XDylanBISHF”, the Pixel 9 Pro could come at a starting price of $999 (~ Rs 83,800). The Pixel 9 Pro XL, on the other hand, is set to start at $1,099 for the 128GB model, which would be a $100 increase from the Pro model. Rumours suggest that Google will run a pre-order promotion, offering the 512GB storage variant for the price of the 256GB model.

Google Pixel 9 Pro, Pro XL expected specifications

According to reports, the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL are expected to come with a 6.2/6.8-inches display with a peak brightness of 300 nits. The Pixel 9 phones are expected to ship with Android 14, with an update to Android 15 coming soon after launch.
Additionally, Google is also introducing a 1TB storage option for the Pixel 9 Pro XL, marking the highest capacity ever offered in a Pixel phone. As far as the camera is concerned, the series is reported to feature a 42MP selfie camera, 50MP main rear camera, and two 48MP sensors for ultrawide and telephoto units. New AI features are also rumoured, including “Pixel Studio” for AI image generation and “Reimagine” for object transformation in photos.
