As shared earlier, the 2026-27 hockey season (when teams play ice hockey) will have a bunch of special signature events. Think of these as extra fun, big-deal matches that are different from the normal everyday games.

The 2026-27 NHL season has many cool special events: a Heritage Classic in Winnipeg (Oct 25), games in Finland (Nov 12 & 14) and Germany (Dec 18 & 20), a Winter Classic in Utah (Dec 31), All-Star fun on Long Island (Feb 5–6) with young players and country teams, and a Stadium Series outdoor game in Dallas (Feb 20). Q1: What is the NHL Heritage Classic?
A: It’s a special hockey game called the 2026 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic where the Winnipeg Jets play the Canadiens on Oct 25 in Winnipeg.
Q2: Why are they playing in Finland and Germany?
A: The NHL wants to share hockey around the world, so they have the Global Series: two games in Helsinki (Nov 12, 14) with Hurricanes and Kraken, and two in Dusseldorf (Dec 18, 20) with Senators and Blackhawks.
Q3: How does the 2027 All-Star Game work?
A: On Feb 6, five teams of 11 players (Canada, Finland, Sweden, USA, and World) play a fun 3-on-3 round-robin tournament. The day before, players age 25 and under do eight skill challenges.
Q4: When can I see the full list of all games?
A: On Thursday at 1 p.m. ET, during a special “NHL Tonight” show on NHL Network or streamed on NHL.com.
Q5: What is the Stadium Series game?
A: It’s an outdoor game on Feb 20 at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium where the Dallas Stars host the Golden Knights.
