The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a tornado warning for parts of four counties until 3:15 p.m. Saturday.
A tornado warning means a tornado has been spotted or is strongly expected to happen very soon. It is serious and means you should act right away.
The warning covers portions of these counties:

The warning also includes a part of the New York State Thruway near Exit 47.
A severe thunderstorm that can make a tornado was seen near Byron, which is northeast of Batavia, at 2:44 p.m.
It was moving east at about 35 mph.
The storm can also drop hail about the size of a quarter (a coin).
The Weather Service says:
Important: Flying debris and strong winds can be deadly. Do not stay outside or in a weak building.

A tornado warning is active until 3:15 p.m. Saturday for parts of Monroe, Livingston, Genesee, and Orleans counties, including Rochester and nearby towns. A storm near Byron is moving east and may bring a tornado and quarter-size hail. People in the area should shelter in a basement or inner low-floor room away from windows immediately.
