Spoiler Alert! This article tells you exactly what happened at the end of Season 8 of Love Island USA on Peacock. If you haven’t watched the finale and want to be surprised, stop reading now!
Imagine a big sunny house (called a villa) where a group of people go to find a boyfriend or girlfriend. They hang out, go on dates, and America watches and votes for their favorite couples. The winning couple gets a pile of money. It’s like a summer camp for grown-ups looking for love, shown on a TV streaming service called Peacock (think of it like Netflix).
After many weeks of happy moments, sad goodbyes, and romance, the show had its final episode on a Sunday night. Here’s what happened step-by-step:
The couples in the finale were:
The big prize was $100,000, and the winning pair would split it (so $50,000 each).
Ariana announced that the couple who got the most votes and "captured America’s heart" were Trinity and Bryce.
Here’s how the others placed:
Important Point: Trinity and Bryce didn’t start as a super lovey-dovey pair. At first, they seemed more like buddies than sweethearts. But as the weeks went by, their feelings grew slowly (we call that a "slow burn"). During a special twist called Casa Amor (where new people come in to test if couples really like each other), they realized they truly cared. After that, they became a strong team and officially became girlfriend and boyfriend before the show ended.
When they won, Bryce was super shocked. He said: “I feel like I’m in a dream right now. I’m walking up here, I’m like, ‘Is this f***ing real?’” (He used a grown-up naughty word because he was so surprised, but we cleaned it a bit.) Trinity said, “I’m just so overwhelmed. I never would have expected in a million years I would be in this position right now.” They even told each other “I love you.”
(There was also a photo of Trinity and Bryce smiling on the show, taken by Ben Symons for Peacock.)
Even though Trinity and Bryce had a pretty smooth ride, the season had plenty of messy moments:
So, there was never a dull moment!
Peacock (the streaming service) shared some fun news:
Ariana Madix talked to The Hollywood Reporter (a website that writes about TV shows) about why the show is a big deal.
Two people, Alannah Keyser and Vasana Montgomery, were asked to leave the show after old social media posts showed them using the N-word (a very hurtful racist word that should never be said). Both said they were sorry.
All episodes of Season 8 are right now on Peacock. You can also read more interviews and coverage on The Hollywood Reporter’s website.
