Imagine two superheroes in the boxing world. One is Canelo Alvarez, a famous boxer from Mexico. The other is Terence Crawford, also known as "Bud."
After losing, Canelo wanted to fight Crawford again right away.
Canelo talked to Ring Magazine about this. He says he still gives Crawford credit, but not the full credit.
Canelo’s Words (Made Simple):
"I always give Crawford credit, but we need to run it back (fight again). After the fight I said, ‘We need to run back this fight’ because I don’t feel I really won and I need to make this happen again. If the rematch happens, it’s going to be different. For him to deserve all the credit, he needs to give me the rematch. But he decided to retire, and we need to accept that and move forward."
Even with those comments, a second fight is very unlikely.
Canelo believes Crawford would only get "all the credit he deserves" if he agreed to fight him a second time. But since Crawford retired, that rematch is probably never happening.
Crawford beat Canelo in a huge upset last year and then retired. Canelo thinks Crawford should have fought him again to earn complete respect, but he accepts the retirement. Now Canelo is getting ready to fight Christian Mbilli in October instead.
