From the weekend of July 18 to 19, and also on Monday, July 20, Moscow and the Moscow Region (the area around the city) are expected to have warm weather with no rain. During the day, the air temperature will reach +30°C.
This information comes from the news agency Interfax, which spoke to Marina Makarova, a leading specialist at the Hydrometeorological Center (a government group that studies and predicts weather).
Important Point: The forecast covers three days: Saturday & Sunday (July 18–19) plus Monday (July 20). No rain is expected the whole time.
Makarova explained that because the air is dry, the weather in the region will be similar to a desert.
Here is why, in simple words:
Important Point: Dry air = fast temperature swings between night and day, similar to desert conditions.
1. Will it rain in Moscow on July 18–20?
No. The forecast says the weather will be warm and without any precipitation (rain or snow).
2. Why is it cold at night but hot during the day?
The air is very dry. Dry air heats up and cools down fast, much like the air in a desert.
3. What does “anticyclonal weather” mean?
It means a high-pressure system (anticyclone) is sitting over the area, usually bringing calm, clear, and dry conditions.
4. Who gave this weather forecast?
Marina Makarova, a leading specialist at the Hydrometeorological Center, shared it with the Interfax news agency.
